Temporary Updates for COVID-19 Response for Aruba Timeshare
Owners and Renters Please be aware... ArubaTime! is a private project for data sharing among the Aruba timeshare owner and renter community. ArubaTime!, its website, owner/operator & participants are not government officials nor experts re: COVID-19 and/or official Aruban policy. Links to official resources will be provided here, along with information related to specific resorts and/or public/private COVID-19 response and recovery efforts for the citizens of Aruba. Please feel free to share important facts or report inaccurate data by replying to any ArubaTime! email. This website will be changing frequently as pandemic conditions change hourly, daily, weekly. Please tell other ArubaFans about this website. |

PURPOSE STATEMENT: |
The ArubaTime! project has been in the development
stage, with no active website. But, after receiving many messages
related to COVID-19 response from many different sources, I thought it
might be helpful to gather all that information onto a single webpage.
Aruba is almost totally dependent upon tourism revenue, which has come to a sudden and total halt, due to the pandemic. Citizens with tourism related jobs are especially hard hit as many of them rely on tips, in addition to their hourly wage. As a result, some of the resorts have setup donation portals to assist their employees during the shutdown. As timeshare owners, these are our employees. They keep our resorts running 24/7/365 so that we are able to enjoy our visits to Aruba. So, I think owners and frequent renters would like to know how they can help. I decided to use dormant resources (website, database) to help facilitate the communication of all these important data sources for the benefit of all the resorts, all timeshare owners and renters and anyone that cares about our Happy Island home away from home. Hopefully, Aruba will be much happier very soon! Stay healthy, Kevin |

FUNDRAISING EFFORTS: |
I've discovered some individual fundraising pages, but I'm sure there
are many more. Please feel free to submit your fundraiser, or that of
someone you know, for inclusion here. I'd like to see timeshare owner
donations going directly to the staff of their resort, but there is no
doubt that many Arubans are experiencing hardship now. I will post links to fundraisers, until they become problematic. |

Aruba Beach Club Main Website
COVID-19 Response (No specific updates found as of May 5, 2020. Link goes to COVID-19 Fund to assist staff) Aruba Beach Club has sent emails and letters to all owners regarding COVID-19 response. They have also initiated an employee emergency assistance program. ABC has 6944 units and I've been told they have well over 5000 current owners. If all the owners contributed just $20, that would create a $100,000 fund to help hourly employees bridge the lost income from having all tourism shut down. If you can afford $50 or $100 or more, that would obviously be amazing. None of us know if there will be a second wave of infections coming to any country or locality and having a financial buffer in place would certainly alleviate some of the stress. Please click here and give generously to help the hourly staff. They work hard 24/7/365 to make sure your vacation stay is comfortable, clean and safe. |

Casa Del Mar Beach Resort Main Website
COVID-19 Response (No specific updates found as of May 5, 2020. Link goes to ONETeam Assistance Fund for staff) Casa Del Mar has sent direct communications to owners via email and the portal. CDM has provided updates on island conditions, governement response, resort closures, capital improvements and the effects on staffing. The management team has initiated the ONETeam Fund as a special collection to assist hourly staff as they struggle with the sudden loss of income due to COVID-19 closures. Casa Del Mar has 7644 total units, so there must be at least 6000 current owners. If all the owners donated $20, that could mean $120,000 to help all the hourly staff survive this sudden loss of income. If you can afford $50 or $100, WOW... what a difference that would make! The only way Aruba will be able to return to normal operations is if all timeshare owners pitch in to help calm these stormy seas. I can't wait to get back to Aruba! |

ABOUT ARUBATIME! |
This website is only a temporary use of
the domain. It is provided as a supplemental resource for COVID-19 related
information in Aruba, during the active phase of the pandemic.
The contemplated ArubaTime! service has not been launched for public use and remains in development for potential future service. People that are interested in travel to Aruba and/or renting/selling timeshare units in Aruba are welcome to join the newsletter mailing list via the form at the top of this webpage. (some mobile devices don't display the form, but a link is also provided above) Subscribers to the mailing list will receive future updates. List members can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any email. The ArubaTime! idea was conceived from frustration. Every time I want to rent our unit or rent a larger unit for my family group, I would spend hours, days & weeks montitoring 20 different websites and message forums. I would even take pictures of the sale/rental postings on the property bulletin boards when I was on the island. Additionally, I like bargains. I'm a value shopper. It drives me crazy when I go to a restaurant or store and find out afterwards that there was a coupon or other discount I could've used. For example, the 5% discount for resort guests at Ling & Sons Grocery. I've discovered there are discounted dining, shopping and discovery/adventure options all over the island. There's a free movie & popcorn night at Costa Linda! If you eat at Zeerover on Sunday, they'll clean the shrimp for free! Wahoo! (which is also excellent at Zeerover!) Since I've worked with databases and process refinement for most of my career, I thought there had to be an easier way to link all these activities. Sure, there are tons of timeshare websites, message boards, email lists and newsletters, but they all focus on the entire world. I want a service that is focused only on Aruba. I want nice accomodations and I want to know where to go, what to see and do while I'm in Aruba. And I'd like to spend less time scouring the Internet, magazines, message boards, airport shopping bag flyers, etc. (and less money whenever possible!) I've been draggin my feet on this project, because... I honestly don't know if it would be of any value to other people. I know there are tens of thousands of timeshare owners in Aruba, but how do I reach them? How many even participate in the rental pools? I know there are many potential renters interested in timeshare units in Aruba... many of them are on the ArubaTime! mailing list. The big question is: is there enough "traffic" to justify creating yet another platform for timeshare owners, renters and bargain hunters? Maybe. We'll see. Please stay healthy and safe so you can enjoy many more years in Aruba! Peace, Kevin |
